The OFF Review
Review Service Terms
Why Does This Website Feel Off?
The Founding Review — $99
The first three reviews are $99 each. After that, the price is $149. The founding price is a launch offer, not a discount on a reduced service: founding clients receive the full review described below.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
Before paying, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to these Review Service Terms as published at that time. If you stop before completing payment, no review has been purchased and nothing further applies.
If these terms are later updated, the update applies only to reviews purchased after the update takes effect. A review you have already paid for stays governed by the version of these terms in place on your purchase date.
These Review Service Terms are governed by the same law specified in our Website Terms of Use.
2. What Is Included
- One website, reviewed on desktop and one representative mobile size — a realistic, representative sample of how the site looks and behaves, not exhaustive testing across every device, browser, or OS combination.
- Your homepage plus up to two additional pages of your choice.
- A written PDF review using the OFF Review (Organization, Focus, Finish) and the Access and Handoff check.
- Annotated screenshots of every page reviewed.
- Your top 3–5 findings, each labeled Must revise, Useful improvement, or Personal preference.
- Copyable revision requests you can send directly to your designer.
- A final recommendation: Approve, Request Revisions, or Pause Approval.
- One round of written follow-up questions (see Section 4).
3. When Work Begins, and Turnaround
After payment, I will email you within 1 business day at the address you used at checkout to ask for your website address, the pages you’d like reviewed, and any required website access (see Section 5). Work begins once you’ve replied with that information and any required access has been provided, and a review start date has been confirmed with you. The five-business-day turnaround (Section 10 defines "business days") starts on that confirmed review start date, not on the payment date.
4. Follow-Up — What "One Round" Means
You may send follow-up questions within 14 days of delivery. "One round" means a single message containing all of your questions, sent at one time. I will answer that message within 2 business days. Additional messages beyond that one round are not included, though I may answer a short clarifying question at my discretion.
5. Site Access
If the website is private, staged, password-protected, or otherwise not publicly reachable, you are responsible for providing access before a review start date can be confirmed. Do not send a personal, reused, billing, recovery, or administrator credential unless absolutely necessary. Instead, create a temporary, limited-access credential for this review, such as a staging password or a view-only login. If I cannot access the site, a start date cannot be confirmed and the turnaround clock in Section 3 does not start.
6. Your Authorization
By submitting a review request, you confirm that you are the business owner, or that you have the owner’s permission, to request a review of this website. I rely on that confirmation and do not independently verify ownership or authority.
7. What Is Not Included
- Implementation, design changes, or development work.
- Code, technical, security, or performance auditing.
- Accessibility, legal, or contractual review.
- SEO, analytics, or conversion testing.
- Copywriting or content production.
- A re-review after revisions. This may be offered separately later.
- Phone or video calls. This is a written review.
Implementation is not part of this review, but a separate quote may be provided depending on the platform, the scope, whether it’s a good fit, and my availability at the time.
8. How It Works
- Pay for your review.
- Reply to my email with your website address, the pages you’d like reviewed, and any access details from Section 5 if the site is private.
- Once everything is in, I confirm your review start date (Section 3) and deliver your review within five business days of that date.
- Send your one round of follow-up questions within fourteen days, per Section 4.
9. A Note on Timing
The review reflects your website as it stood on the delivery date. If the site changes while the review is underway, tell me. I will note it, but the review is not rerun.
10. Business Days
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and U.S. federal holidays. A request submitted on a weekend or holiday is treated as received on the next business day for the purpose of counting turnaround.
11. Confidentiality and Credentials
Any temporary credential you provide under Section 5 is deleted immediately after your review report is delivered.
Intake responses, screenshots, and other working review materials are deleted 30 days after the follow-up period (Section 4) closes, except records I need to keep for payment, tax, dispute, or legal purposes. Nothing you share with me is used for any purpose beyond completing your review, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
12. AI-Assisted Processing
AI tools are a normal part of how I prepare your review, assisting with organizing notes, analyzing findings, drafting language, and formatting the report. I personally review and approve every finding, priority label, and recommendation before it is delivered to you; AI output does not replace my judgment or stand in for my final review.
A fully non-AI-assisted review is not offered at this time.
I do not claim that any AI tool used never retains, reviews, or trains on submitted material. That depends on the specific tool and its current terms, which can change over time. Please do not submit sensitive customer data, payment card information, medical information, personal passwords, recovery codes, or other unrelated confidential information in your emails, screenshots, or messages to me. Sections 5 and 11 explain what to send instead.
13. Refunds and Cancellation
- Full refund any time before work begins (see Section 3 for when that is), no questions asked.
- 50% refund if you cancel after work has begun but before delivery.
- After delivery, no refund. However, if any deliverable listed in Section 2 is missing, I will complete it or refund you in full.
- I may decline or cancel a review and refund in full, for example, if the website is not far enough along to review usefully, if access under Section 5 is never provided, or if the request falls outside this scope.
14. Founding Price Conditions
In exchange for the $99 founding price, I will ask whether you’re willing to give a short written testimonial and to let me use anonymized, unidentifiable findings as teaching examples, using the Testimonial and Case Study Permission Form. Neither is required to receive the founding price, and I will not use or publish either one, even anonymized, without your separate, explicit approval of the exact wording, as described in that form. If you agree to a testimonial, it may identify you as a "Founding client," consistent with the Testimonial and Case Study Permission Form.
15. The Access and Handoff Check Relies on What You Tell Me
The Access and Handoff portion of the review — domain, hosting, platform, analytics, email, backups, and similar items — reflects what you report to me by email. It is not an independent verification of ownership or access. I do not log into your accounts, contact your host or registrar, or independently verify access. If you are not sure about an item, say so in your email rather than guessing; "not sure" is a useful, honest answer.
16. Scope
This is a design and approval review. It is not legal, accessibility, security, contractual, or technical advice, and it does not guarantee a business result. It does not replace a qualified accessibility, security, or development specialist.
17. Review Standards
- Critique decisions, not designers.
- Explain why every recommendation matters.
- Prioritize before listing minor improvements.
- Never overwhelm the client with unnecessary issues.
- Stay within the agreed review scope.
